I am sorry to hear that. I lost my dad back in 2002 due to a heart attack so I know the feeling. You take care of yourself and may her soul rest in peace... Keep in touch! Love...

Dear Sriya,
I am so sorry you lost your grandmother. I know that being so far away from her must have made it all the harder, as your family is probably all together in India telling stories and mourning together. And you are here. How wonderful that you felt so close with her. I never had a real grandparent relationship in that way. What a blessing it was to have that precious connection with an elder in your family.
Much love,
Tamar

Hi Sriya,
Its very interesting thatt you sent me this email today, because it was just yesterday that I was thinking about how the people whom I find more mature and better than others seem to have been influenced in positive ways by theiir grandparents. Sometimes people wonder what they will do when they get old. Actually, people like your grandmother provide the solution to that - to help the youngers ones (need not be one's own kids) feel comfortable and happy.
Well, be not sad that you lost her. She is definitely somewhere around, though you may not see her in her previous body. Infact, best is to be even happier that you are not bound by the limitation of needing to see her body to see her.
"Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance." -Kahlil Gibran
So please try to think of her dancing around in some heavenly world!
Hare Krsna!!!

Hi Sriya,
my heartfelt condolences to you..
I went through the exact same phase when my grandmom passed away couple of years back. She was about the same age as your grandmother too. and we were very close to each other.
Just know that she is in a great peace wherever she is and her spirit will always be around you to love you wherever you are..
Love,
Saylee

Miss me but let me go! |
September 11, 2010 |
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little--but not too long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me--but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take
And each must go alone. It's all a part of the Master's plan
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss Me - But Let me Go!
